Local air temperatures are forecast to be moderate for the near term, so RELAC President Mark Waddell reported in a letter to customers that 2019 community air conditioning chilled water service will end on the SCC tariff date today at 12:00 noon. Nearby Dulles International Airport recorded 62 days of 90F+ temperatures as of October 2, making 2019 the third hottest summer recorded since 1963. Customers can schedule system repairs during the related annual pipe drain period as noted in the letter at right.
