From October 2012 through September 2020, this website published and archived ad hoc and legacy official Hickory Cluster Association (HCA) community information for a grand total of $0 in HCA Member cost. In September 2020, however, the HCA Board of Directors launched a new official website at hickorycluster.org initially costing up to $2,000 or more for dedicated Internet domain, email service, and offshore website developer consulting fees, plus recurring annual expenses.
As of August 10, 2021, this website accumulated more than 129,000 page views worldwide and is the foremost authority on at least two Google search subjects, as a result of hundreds of volunteer hours invested in its graphic and document database design and management. It will continue publication as an unofficial website to preserve almost 10 years of community history, and also to provide ongoing broader community issues perspectives as was and is the practice of other websites that make use of the generic Hickory Cluster name.

PRIVACY: In 2019, HCA transitioned from use of private personal email with content accessible only by individually-addressed Directors, to a non-private organizational domain hickorycluster.org Microsoft Office 365 Outlook email administered by just a single Director. The following are excerpts from the corresponding Microsoft Privacy Statement: "If you use an email address to access Microsoft products and that email address was provided by an organization ... that organization can ... Access ... the contents of your communications and files ... . ... Your use of the Microsoft products is subject to your organization's policies, if any. You should direct your privacy inquiries, including any requests to exercise your data protection rights, to your organization's administrator. ... " So, if you want to email a private message or documents to an HCA Director, send it to their personal email address, not to them @hickorycluster.org where there is no expectation of or actual privacy.
