LAKE ANNE FELLOWSHIP HOUSE INFO MTG @ DEC 11

Earlier this week HCA Directors and Members received letters announcing a 7:00 p.m. December 11, 2017 meeting at Lake Anne Elementary School hosted by Fairfax County Supervisor Hudgins to share current redevelopment project information with Hickory Cluster and Waterview Cluster residents prior to future broader community meetings.  RA also reported November 17 that the New Lake Anne House LP project team submitted Fairfax County Planning and Zoning applications on November 8.  Apparently the County received the applications but did not formally accept them for review.  The current Comprehensive Plan permits multi-family residential development of no more than 320 multi-family dwelling units on this 5.96 acre site.  This implies that up to 80 new units will be built in addition to replacements for 240 existing senior citizen affordable housing units, assuming current zoning density limits are not increased as has been the subject of recent community meeting heated public debate.  A redevelopment partner also indicated that new residential buildings along the Hickory Cluster Block 1 property line will be four stories tall, and that in response to July 2017 HCA general concerns " ... We are endeavoring to design the development to minimize impact to Hickory Cluster and these new plans certainly have less impact than the previous plans developed several years ago. ... "  See earlier HCA website posts for more background information.
